People's Poet of Kyrgyzstan, Hero of Socialist Labor Aaly Tokombayev is considered one of the founders of Kyrgyz literature. His creative path is closely connected with the main successes in the history of the national literature of Kyrgyzstan.

Aaly Tokombayev was born on November 7, 1904 in the village of Chon-Kayyndy. During the uprising of 1916, his family fled to China, and in 1917, on the way back, his family died, as a result of which Aaly was orphaned. In 1922 he was admitted to the Tashkent boarding school.

The fate of the national poet, talented writer, translator and creative mentor can not be called simple. He, as many have noted, was himself a symbol of a difficult era. Aaly Tokombayev became an orphan early and gained fame as a poet just as early. With one of his poems, published in the first issue of the first newspaper in the Kyrgyz language - "Erkin Too", the history of Kyrgyz written literature actually began.

Facts:

• A. Tokombayev is one of the authors of the National Anthem of the Kyrgyz SSR, co-author of the translation into the Kyrgyz language of the Anthem of the USSR and the party Anthem "International".
• The writer actively worked in the field of poetic translation. He translated into the Kyrgyz language the works of S. Marshak, A. Kunanbayev, J. S. Marshak. Dzhabaeva. He took part in the translation and publication of many collective collections.
• Most of A. Tokombayev's works were published in Russian language, some editions were published in Ukrainian, Kazakh, Tajik, Uzbek, Lithuanian languages, some works were published abroad.
• He was repeatedly elected a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR, a candidate member of the Kirobkom, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan.
• His pseudonym was "Balka"

Memory of him:

As a bright and extraordinary person, of course, he was ambiguously assessed by those in power. Aaly Tokombayev received high awards, was harshly criticized by officials, and during stalin's repressions was even arrested as an "enemy of the people." However, literally a few years later he was awarded the Order of Lenin, the "Badge of Honor", the Red Banner of Labor. And then he received a number of awards, became a Hero of Socialist Labor, was awarded state prizes, orders and medals.

In 1996, a monument to the poet was erected in Bishkek. In the house where the Hero lived - a memorial house-museum. An avenue in Bishkek is named after him. In 2014, the opening of the book and illustrative exhibition "Aaly Tokombayevdin "Toktogul" novels - uluulardin murasi" and the presentation of the book "Toktogul", dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birth of the People's Poet Aaly Tokombayev
